50th Anniversary Mug by Linda Wright

Availability: In stock

To celebrate 50 years of Cape Breton Centre for Craft & Design, the Centre is excited to launch a special 50th anniversary handmade mug collection.

The mugs will be dropped in seasonal series throughout 2022 in summer, autumn and winter:

  • Summer mugs are handmade by Linda Wright.
  • Autumn mugs will be handmade by Nancy Oakley.
  • Winter mugs will be handmade by Jitka Zgola.

There are only 50 of each series being produced, which means if you are interested, you'll need to act fast! Each mug will be numbered 1-50 and sold by edition number to celebrate this special year.

In her signature Oceanic Glaze, Linda Wright has captured the beauty of Cape Breton Island's coast for the summer mug series.

*Mugs 34 and 49 are left-handed mugs.

Linda is a potter and visual artist who immigrated from Scotland in 1974. After graduating from Sheridan School of Craft & Design in 1985, she started her first studio in Hamilton, Ontario, then moved to Muskoka where she operated Northshore Pottery for almost 20 years. In 2009, Linda moved to Cape Breton and opened Big Hill Pottery near Baddeck. Linda loves to create with texture and form, putting much emphasis on the function of the item. A great deal of consideration is given to the total integration of each piece. All pottery can be used in the oven, microwave and dishwasher.
