Small Flower Vase by Leather Works
Flower bags are made using a centuries old method called "cuir bouilli", meaning an item made from vegetable tanned leather is soaked in hot water, shaped and then baked to dry into a permanent shape. A glass jar liner is included with each bag. Each bag is individually molded so sizes may vary slightly.
Jolene Dauphney has spent her life on the North Shore of Cape Breton and almost her entire working life in the business of crafting leather. She spent several years as an apprentice to master leatherworker John Roberts of Leather Works. In 2014 Jolene took over ownership of the store from the Roberts family, renaming it Leather Works by Jolene.
